For fans of off-road vehicles, Jeep and Mopar’s annual Moab Easter Safari is better than Christmas. And this year is even more special, celebrating the return of the famous Gladiator pickup truck. But the star of the show, amongst a gallery of winners, might just be this 1968 Jeep M-715 Gladiator ‘Five-Quarter’ concept.
Built to be a military vehicle, this beautiful bruiser boasts all the classic styling of the donor vehicle with modern components that vault it into the present day. And that starts with the powerplant: a beastly 707-horsepower 6.2L supercharged ‘Hellcrate’ HEMI V8 engine (the crate version of the one found in the Dodge Demon pony car). Of course, that’s not all it has — not by a long shot. It also features a full carbon fiber front end, custom-fabricated aluminum bed, reinforced frame with a new heavy-duty link/coil suspension system, and a suite of LED lights to go along with HID headlamps. Both functional and beautiful, this past-meets-present build is a one-of-a-kind 4×4 that yearns to be pushed to its limits.
