The recently anointed Mrs Pitt has a huge number of tattoos that seem out of kilter with her Earth mother image. These, seen on her shoulder, are the geographical coordinates that correspond to the birthplaces of her six children. She recently added the coordinates of hubby Brad’s birthplace too.

Sylvester Stallone

Sylvester Stallone

If you look back at 'Rocky', Stallone is tattoo-free, but skip forward to ‘The Expendables’ and he’s covered in them. Why? "I have all kinds of chest injuries; I tore my vein during 'Rocky II' and had 60 stitches,” Stallone told ContactMusic,"It got worse and worse, and people were saying, 'Urgh, has he got varicose veins?' So I thought, 'f**k it', and covered them with a tattoo of my wife."

Brad Pitt

This weird shape on his lower left arm is thought to be an image of a 5000-year-old mummy named “Ötzi” that was found preserved in ice in the mountains between Austria and Italy in 1991. It’s unclear why Pitt chose to commemorate the primeval man on his arm, but maybe he just hopes his career will last as long as the mummy?

Colin Farrell

Colin Farrell

Like any good Irish boy, Colin Farrell loves his mammy so he has her name Rita scrawled on his shoulder in a dramatic red heart. The ‘Minority Report’ actor also has a big Tahitian tribal design on his right shoulder.

Mark Wahlberg

Mark Wahlberg

Wahlberg recently had over 30 laser removal treatments to erase a number of tattoos he had, including this one of Bob Marley on his left shoulder. He took his four kids along to watch the painful treatments being done to deter them from getting inked later in life.

Megan Fox

Megan Fox

The ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ star has a number of tattoos including one of Marilyn Monroe she recently had removed from her arm, but this abridged Shakespeare quote on her shoulder is her most noticeable. It reads “We will all laugh at gilded butterflies”, and Fox says it reminds her "to not get too caught up in Hollywood because people will end up laughing at you”.

Ryan Gosling

Ryan Gosling

The swoon-inducing actor did this tattoo himself. “It's supposed to be a monster’s hand dropping a bloody heart, but I did it myself with a tattoo kit so it looks like a cactus.” We finally found something he's NOT good at!

Dwayne "The Rock” Johnson

Dwayne "The Rock” Johnson

The Rock has the head of a bull on his right bicep, representing his star sign of Taurus. The huge tribal tattoo on his left shoulder took 60 hours to ink and it depicts his life story so far through various symbols including coconut leaves with symbolise the head of a Samoan warrior.

Tom Hardy

Tom Hardy

Hardy is inked up like a school desk in a rough neighborhood, but this one on his abs that reads “Till I die SW” is a bit embarrassing for Bane actor. “That’s what you call a mistake tattoo,” he says about the tat that he got as a tribute to his ex-wife Sarah Ward whom he divorced in 2004.

Amanda Seyfried

Amanda Seyfried

The actress has a rather rude word tattooed on her foot, that likely makes people say “Mamma Mia!” when they get close enough to read it. She got the anatomically referring word after Colin Firth kept saying it on the set of the Abba Musical.  "It's to make me laugh, and every time I look at it I do,” she explained, "I have a dirty sense of humour. I can be blunt and vulgar."

Scarlett Johnasson

Scarlett Johnasson

The ‘Lucy’ star has a colorful sunrise tat on her left forearm. The meaning behind it is currently unknown as the actress says "the reason I had it done is very personal. Some things have to remain private.” Ooh, mysterious.

Pamela Anderson

Pamela Anderson

Pammie got her armband inked back in 1995 specifically for her leading role in ‘Barbed Wire’ to save time in make-up every day. She recently started having laser removal surgery on the tat to get rid of it and it’s slowly fading away, unlike our memory of the godawful film. She also amended her “Tommy” tattoo (as in ex-husband Tommy Lee) to say “Mommy” instead.

Orlando Bloom

Orlando Bloom

Bloom was one of nine ‘Lord of the Rings’ cast members to get the Elvish rune for “Nine” inked on his body. The Legolas star has his on his wrist, while Sir Ian McKellen opted for the shoulder. The only member of the Fellowship not get the tat was John Rhys-Davies whose stunt double got one instead.

Shia LaBeouf

Shia LaBeouf

The “1986-2004” tattoo on Shia’s wrist is there to remind him of his lost childhood. "A lot of people who have been working a lot of their life, (I've been doing this for 10 years), a lot of people say, 'Oh, I forgot my childhood or I miss my childhood.' 1986 to 2004, so that's just precautionary."

Emma Stone

Emma Stone

Emma and her mother had matching tattoos of bird feet after her mother beat breast cancer, but you’ll never believe who designed it. "My mom's favorite song is 'Blackbird,'" explained Stone. "I wrote a letter to Paul McCartney asking him if he would draw two little bird feet — because he wrote the song — and yesterday he sent them to me."

  1. Symbolize this and symbolize that. It's nothing more than monkey see, monkey do mentality. Put art on the wall, not on your skin. It's an unconscious mind that feels the need to do this self-serving, ego-driven act.
