Did Hennessey Just Smash Its Own World Speed Record?

This video strongly suggests it.
Two years ago the Hennessey Venom GT claimed the crown as the fastest two-seater production car. It hit 270.49 mph which is just a bit faster than the 267.856 mph done by the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. Powering the Venom in its pursuit of speed was a 7.0-liter twin-turbo V8 rated at 1,244 horsepower and 1,155 lb-ft of torque. Now it appears like Hennessey has toppled its own record, at least if this teaser video is any indication. It shows the Venom GT with the roof off racing down the runway of what we assume is Kennedy Space Center.Hennessey is expected to announce the record run and release a video of it in a few days. We know this because the video tells us to look out for a new world record on 4/11/16. Check back Monday for all the details.
