We were always of the opinion that anyone who converts an MR2 into a dodgy Ferrari lookalike should be arrested, but it turns out that's actually what happens in Spain...Ferrari - Spanish Police Raid Fake Ferrari Factory That Turned Peugeots Into F430s - News
Spanish police have raided a bizarre ‘factory’ that was turning out fake Ferraris based on old models from Toyota, Ford and Peugeot.
The low-key industrial building was discovered after a dodgy MR2-based fakerrari was stopped in Benidorm, with the owner’s testimony helping the cops trace the supplier back to a building in Girona, in the north-east of Catalonia.

When they stormed the factory the police found 14 Peugeot 406s, Ford Cougars and more MR2s in various stages of conversion into vaguely lookalike F355s, F430s, a 360 and a 348. Several of the fibreglass-bodied replicas were for sale online, with asking prices around the £35,000 mark. Who’d be daft enough to pay that? Benidorm man, we’re looking at you…
The man behind it all was arrested for infringing Ferraris ‘industrial property rights’. Oh, and also for having a hilarious 950 marijuana plants plus all the equipment needed to grow more.

The conversions are evidently illegal in Spain, but a small number of British firms still offer conversion kits, y’know, for if you’d like to turn a decent car into an utterly horrible affront to style that should be killed with fire. Your choice.
