NextEV Hypercar

NextEV Hypercar- $1.31 Million
Set to be unveiled next month, the new hypercar is the first in a series of production cars planned by NextEV, whose profile has been raised since its formation in 2014 by its participation in the global Formula E championship. The car was previously previewed in a design sketch that surfaced on Chinese social media.
The Chinese-based electric vehicle start-up, headed by former president of Ford of Europe Martin Leach, has already indicated to Autocar that the hypercar will set new standards in electric car performance.
Formula E’s NextEV plans to reveal a new electric hypercar before the end of the year, priced from $1.31 million. The new car will utilize experience acquired by NextEV from its technological ventures, Formula E experience as well as by working with a team of key figures well known to the automotive industry including former president of Ford of Europe Martin Leach.
While little information is known regarding this car, NextEV told Autocar that they are in the advanced stage of testing, with expectations of a 1 megawatt plus final product.

Reports out of China suggest the power of the production version of the new hypercar will reach 1360bhp, although this is yet to be officially confirmed by NextEV. There are also suggestions that the low-slung coupé will provide 0-62mph acceleration in less than three seconds and reach a top speed of more than 186mph.2017 Arash AF10 Hybrid
2017 Arash AF10 Hybrid – $1.57 Million
The latest AF10’s design is an evolution of what we saw from the original. The updated shape continues to have a bizarre face, but the sides appear more sculpted now.
The company also reshapes the rear wing. Underneath the carbon fiber reinforced plastic panels, there’s a 13-piece tub also hewn from carbon fiber. The composite material also forms everything inside, including the seats and dashboard. Arash doesn’t say how much the AF10 weighs, though.
The 2017 Arash AF10 Hybrid was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show 2016 earlier in March. The car is a massive improvement over the old AF10, and is now offered in three trims namely the AF10, AF10 Hybrid and the AF10 Hybrid Racer.
The base AF10 is powered by a 6.2 liter V8 from the Corvette C7 Z06 albeit with power taped at 550hp. The AF10 Hybrid and Hybrid Racer are powered by the same 6.2L V8 now producing 900 hp, the engine is coupled with four electric motors producing 1,180 hp for a combined output of 2,080 hp!
To get so much power to the road, the AF10 packs five gearboxes: customers can choose between a six-speed manual or paddle-shift automatic for the V8, and each electric motor has its own two-speed unit.
Pricing starts at $493,542 for the entry level AF10, $1.5 million for the AF10 Hybrid and $1.6 million for the AF10 Hybrid Racer.2016 Koenigsegg Agera RS
2016 Koenigsegg Agera RS – $1.6 Million+
The new Koenigsegg Agera RS has its focus set firmly on the track but is still perfect for regular use on the road. It uses advanced technology developed during our exclusive Koenigsegg One:1 program, while maintaining all the functionality of previous S and R models.
Such practicalities include a usable luggage compartment and a detachable hardtop that can be stowed internally for top-down motoring at any time.
Agera RS enhancements include: advanced lightweight sound insulation, an all-new front splitter optimized for the track, front winglets, side skirts, advanced dynamic underbody flap system and a dynamically active rear spoiler for added down force (now up to 450 kg at 250 km/h).
The RS also features improved side air outlets behind the front wheels, increased power and a raised rpm limit.
The engine – as with the previous Agera S – has been optimized for regular pump gas and now puts out an incredible 1160 bhp on regular petrol. That’s an astonishing 232 bhp per liter with perfect reliability.
In certain markets, the Agera RS can also be configured to run on E85 for even higher power levels, while the engine management system offers the ability to adjust on-the-fly to any fuel mix at any given time.
An Agera RS sold for $5 million in Singapore recently2017 Zenvo TS1
2017 Zenvo TS1 – $1.8 Million+ est.
Zenvo’ s genesis wasn’t exactly an easy one. The Danish manufacturer was founded in 2007 with the noblest of intentions – to make high-dollar, low-volume, ultra-high-performance sports cars for both the street and the track.
Philosophically speaking, the TS1 follows closely in the footsteps of the ST1. It’s still a hand-built, outrageously powerful hypercar for the enormously well-to-do.
However, Zenvo is quick to point out that this new model was carefully refined to meet customer demands, combining extreme performance with daily-driver comfort and high levels of customizability.
While the TS1 got its big reveal at the 2016 Geneva International Motor Show, Zenvo left a few important details up in the air. That said, there’s quite a bit left to explore here, so let’s check it out.
Everything is geometric and sharp, manifesting that futuristic atmosphere needed for a car in this segment. There are hexagons everywhere – in the upholstery quilting, steering wheel, buttons, and console surrounds, all of which echo the shape of the front fascia.
Zenvo says buyers get to work with the design team directly when customizing their TS1’s interior, with “unlimited” options at their disposal. That includes leather, Alcantara, carbon fiber, and aluminum for the list of materials. No word yet on the availability of Nomex.Fenyr Supersport
Fenyr Supersport- $1.85 Million
Called the Fenyr SuperSport, the new supercar features even more radical styling and a significantly more powerful engine. Like its predecessor, the SuperSport was developed together with Magna Steyr and RUF Automobile.
Just like the HyperSport, the upcoming SuperSport features a layered surfacing design that creates the impression of an armored vehicle.
While it may seem tough, the SuperSport is actually very light, as the entire body is made from carbon-fiber and bolted on a tubular lightweight aluminum chassis. The supercar has an aggressive front fascia with LED headlamps and massive air intakes, a ventilated hood, and protruding side skirts.
Like most modern supercars, it also features an active rear spoiler. Dubbed “Triptych,” it is composed of three separate moving flaps and operates using a complex electro-mechanical system that guarantees the synchronous movement of all three surfaces.
Porsche masters RUF Automobile and G-Wagon builders Magna Steyr are responsible for the development of the Fenyr Supersport. The 4.0 liter flat-six engine comes from RUF, now producing 900 hp and a top speed of more than 400 km/h. 0-100 km/h can be achieved in less than 2.7s.
While it may not be a beauty contest winner, the Fenyr SuperSport is definitely unique and a lot more aggressive than the Lykan HyperSport.2017 Koenigsegg Regera
2017 Koenigsegg Regera – $1.9 Million
With previous Koenigsegg production models being an indication, the Regera pretty much looks like a restyled Agera, which itself is a restyled version of the CC8S/CCR/ CCX and CCXR that went before it.
That said, the new model sports enough design modifications to be worthy of the moniker and propulsion changes, even though most of its design features are nearly identical to its predecessors.
The front features a pair of new headlights, a much deeper aerodynamic front splitter for more downforce and less drag, and some differently shaped air intakes. Three NACA-like air ducts have been fitted on the front hood, right under the windshield.
The production version of the Koenigsegg Regera was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show 2016, an year after the official debut of the car.
It’s Koenigsegg’s first plug-in-hybrid hypercar, limited to 80 units of which 40 had been sold as of March 2016. Despite having identical performance to the One:1 megacar, the Regera has a vast array of technology that differentiates it from the rest of the Koenigsegg lineup.
A 5.0 liter V8 twin turbo forms the main part of the drivetrain, assisted by 3 electric motors for a combined output of 1,822 hp.
Most unique to the Regera is the Koenigsegg Direct Drive System which is essentially a single speed fixed gear transmission that replaces the traditional multi gear system. The Koenigsegg Regera costs around $1.9 million.Lamborghini Centenario
Lamborghini Centenario – $1.94 Million
The Lamborghini Aventador is a mid-engined sports car produced by the Italian manufacturer Lamborghini.
Launched on 28 February 2011 at the Geneva Motor Show, five months after its initial unveiling in Sant’Agata Bolognese, the vehicle, internally codenamed LB834, was designed to replace the then-decade-old Murciélago as the new flagship model.
To commemorate Ferruccio Lamborghini’s 100th birthday, Lamborghini released a limited-edition supercar based on the Aventador. 40 examples (20 coupes and 20 roadsters) were produced, all of which have been sold out. Contrary to the rest of Lamborghini’s lineup, the Centenario’s design was rumored to be “not as extreme” compared to other wedge-shaped supercars.
Power comes from a tuned version of the Aventador’s 6.5-litre V12 producing 759 hp (770 PS), a hybrid powertrain is possible. The car, which costs just under €2,200,000, was unveiled at the March 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
The Centenario is available in the racing game Forza Horizon 3 and also features on the game’s cover art.
To celebrate Ferruccio Lamborghini’s 100th birthday, Lamborghini built a special edition supercar named the Centenario. It was revealed at Geneva 2016 and is based on the successful Aventador.
The Centenario is powered by a 6.5 liter V12 producing 759 hp, making it the most powerful Lamborghini ever made. The price starts from $1.9 million, only 40 units (20 Coupes and 20 Roadsters) will be built, all which have been sold out.Lamborghini Centenario Roadster
Lamborghini Centenario Roadster- $2.27 Million
Lamborghini unveiled the open air version of the latest one-off creation to fervent collectors and enthusiasts at Monterey Car Week in California. A performance driven model, this one-off open-top model is built on a carbon fiber monocoque frame with bodywork also in carbon fiber.
The highly responsive V12 engine delivers 770 hp (566 kW) with maximum engine revs increased from 8.350 to 8.600 rpm. Accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds the Centenario Roadster’s top speed is more than 350 km/h. Braking distance is equally impressive: from 100-0 km/h in just 31 m.
The Centenario Roadster adopts Lamborghini new rear wheel steering. This system increases turning agility at low speed while increasing stability at high speed.
Known for experimenting with new cutting edge colors, designers at Centro Stile Lamborghini developed a special exterior silver color, called “Argento Centenario”, fashioned exclusively for the Centenario Roadster.
To achieve this signature matte finish, designers applied a new high-tech process dissolving the metal while diluting and diminishing the appearance of the metal grain giving it a silky and rich exterior finish.
The Lamborghini Centenario Roadster was unveiled at the Monterey Car Week 2016. Just like the coupe, only 20 units of the Roadster will be built and they are all sold out with a starting price of $2.27 million. It’s powered by a 770hp V12 naturally aspirated engine, the most powerful unit ever made by Lamborghini. The outcome is a top speed of 350 km/h and 0-100 km/h in just 2.9s.2016 Aston Martin Vulcan
2016 Aston Martin Vulcan – $2.3 Million
The Aston Martin Vulcan was limited to just 24 units and is the most extreme Aston Martin ever built. We have witnessed several deliveries over the past few months including the 2 units currently in the US, where one will be auctioned at Monterey Car Week 2016. Another one was listed for sale at $3.4 million. The official price for the Aston Martin Vulcan was listed at $2.3 million. Powering the Vulcan is a 7L V12 developing 800 hp.
Power travels to the pavement through a mid-mounted, Xtrac, six-speed sequential transmission with paddles behind the steering wheel. The Vulcan is also equipped with a limited-slip differential and a magnesium torque tube with a carbon-fiber drive shaft.
The interior of the Vulcan is downright radical when compared to the Vantage GT3’s. Nearly every surface is made from carbon-fiber and everything from the dashboard and display cluster to the steering wheel and the seats were crafted with professional racing in mind. The bucket seats come wrapped in Alcantara, while the race-spec steering wheel is festooned with buttons and switches.
The rear fascia’s design is brand-new as well, but some details, such as the taillights, the side vents, and the massive wing, are reminiscent of the Vantage GT3 and GTE race cars. Everything else is unique to the Vulcan, from the design of the deck to the menacing rear diffuser.Ken Okuyama Kode57
Ken Okuyama Kode57 – $2.5 Million
Ken Okuyuma is the guy behind the exquisite design of the now legendary Ferrari Enzo. Okuyuma has since designed some of the world’s most desirable cars including the Maserati Quattroporte.
Besides that, he has also worked on a few cars of his own including the new Kode57 supercar that reflects a retro design from the 1950s Ferrari cars. Okuyama, who during a stint at Pininfarina led the design of cars such as the Ferrari Enzo and 599, has announced a production run though sadly just five examples will be built, including the version shown here.
It’s a much more ambitious project compared to his previous efforts, lessons from which aided the development of the new car, primarily in the areas of carbon fiber and aluminum processing.
The new Kode57 features a much more aggressive design and its name pays homage to the year 1957, “an iconic year in which many legendary cars were born and motor racing gained a strong worldwide following.”
Power comes from a 6.0-liter V12 engine that puts out around 600 horsepower, but custom tuning by Novitec Rosso can apparently be installed for more power. Okuyama isn’t saying where the engine or other major components were sourced from, but we’re thinking a Ferrari 599 GTB probably donated its heart to the project.Pininfarina H2 Speed
Pininfarina H2 Speed – $2.5 Million
The Pininfarina H2 Speed is a hydrogen fuel-cell concept car revealed at the Geneva Motor Show 2016.
The H2 Speed Concept will actually be built. That’s according to a report by Automotive News. Apparently Mahindra, the Indian industrial titan that owns Pininfarina, approved 10 units of the H2 Speed Concept.
The “production” cars will be track-only specials for “gentleman drivers”, based on a Le Mans Prototype 2 racing chassis that’s homologated for FIA competition, but will utilize a twin-stack hydrogen fuel cell system that will power the 503-horsepower electric motors. The cars are rear-wheel drive, zero to 62 mph should take only 3.4 seconds, and the racer is estimated to have a top speed of 186 mph.
The cars are rear-wheel drive, zero to 62 mph should take only 3.4 seconds, and the racer is estimated to have a top speed of 186 mph.
Pininfarina expects to have a working prototype in roughly 12 to 14 months, Pininfarina CEO Silvio Pietro Angori told Automotive News. The styling house claims to have buyers lined up for the cars and will charge $2.5 million each. First deliveries should take place in 2018.
With Mahindra at the helm, Angori believes Pininfarina should make a profit on each H2 Speed Concept that’s built. If a profitable, limited-run track car is any indication, a road-going version from the Italian design house could be a possibility down the road.2017 Pagani Huayra BC
2017 Pagani Huayra BC – $2.5 Million
Although it’s been around since 2012, the Pagani Huayra has yet to spawn more than a few special-edition versions. But, now that all 100 units of the supercar have been sold, the Italian carmaker is working on new iterations of the model — two of which will be the Huayra Roadster and a more hardcore version of the coupe.
While the former is still a mystery, the latter has surfaced the Interwebz in a teaser image revealed on the automaker’s Facebook page in December 2015. After two months of rumors and teasing, Pagani has finally unveiled the Huayra BC, the most powerful and track-focused Huayra built to date.
Fitted with an uprated V-12 powerplant, a new transmission, revised aerodynamics, and a race-inspired interior, the Huayra BC was named after Benny Caiola, one of the first Pagani customers, as well as a good friend of Horacio.
So, while the Zonda F was dedicated to Formula One ace Juan Manuel Fangio, the Huayra BC was developed in honor of Caiola, who owned several Zondas, including a Zonda F, which was regularly driven by Horacio himself.
Needless to say, the Huayra BC is the most aggressive looking Huayra yet. It’s race-spec aero kit reminds me of the Zonda R, but unlike the its spiritual predecessor, the Huayra BC is homologated for road use.McLaren P1 GTR
McLaren P1 GTR – $2.59 Million
The 2014 McLaren P1 debuted with its hulking 3.8-liter V-8 and electric motor that together produced a mighty 903 horsepower and approximately 1,100 pound-feet of twist.
McLaren has already made it clear that there will be plenty of special-edition P1s, and in 2015 the first of these arrives in the form of a track-exclusive P1. In a nod to the McLaren F1 that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in 1995, the track-prepped P1 carries the same GTR moniker.
Besides featuring a host of aerodynamic and technical improvements, which translate into more horsepower and improved performance, the P1 GTR also marks the introduction of McLaren’s full customer racing program.
Just like Ferrari and Lamborghini, the Brits are upping the ante toward organizing private racing events on famous Formula One tracks, but not before the buyers receive private consultations with McLaren’s racing division.
The supercar has just been unveiled as a production-ready concept car at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Read on to meet McLaren’s new and utterly powerful race car.
Pricing for the conversion depends on the options and the extent of the work done on the car, resale value for a track only P1 GTR tops the $3 million mark and beyond while a used road legal P1 GTR could fetch up to $6 million. McLaren offered the P1 GTR at a price of $2.59 Million.Bugatti Chiron
Bugatti Chiron – $2.6 Million
The Bugatti Chiron is a mid-engined, two-seated sports car, designed by Achim Anscheidt and developed by the Bugatti automotive group (which is owned by the Volkswagen Group) as the successor to the Bugatti Veyron.
The Chiron was first revealed at the Geneva Motor Show on March 1, 2016. The car is named in honor of the Monegasque driver Louis Chiron.
The main carryover piece will be the 8 litre W16 quad-turbocharged engine, though it is heavily updated.
The Chiron has 1,103 kW (1,500 PS; 1,479 bhp) of power and 1,600 N·m (1,180 lb·ft) of torque starting from 2000 rpm. Like its predecessor, the Veyron, it has a carbon fibre body structure, independent suspension and AWD system.
The Chiron will accelerate from 0–100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.4 seconds according to the manufacturer, 0–200 km/h (120 mph) in under 6.5 seconds and 0–300 km/h (190 mph) in under 13.6 seconds.
The Chiron’s top speed is electronically limited to 420 km/h (260 mph) for safety reasons. The anticipated full top speed of the Bugatti Chiron is believed to be around 463 km/h (288 mph).
Its predecessor (the Bugatti Veyron SS) makes almost 220 kW (300 bhp) less than the new Chiron, and although the Chiron’s limiter gets it only to 420 km/h (260 mph), the speedometer gets up to 500 km/h (310 mph).Icona Vulcano Titanium
Icona Vulcano Titanium – $2.7 Million
This one-off creation from Italian designhouse Icona is a world first with its unique titanium and carbon fiber body. The car was first presented at the Shanghai Motor Show in April 2013 and at Pebble Beach the same year.
“Inspiration for the Vulcano came from the world’s fastest plane, the Blackbird SR-71, whose sharp and dramatic silhouette complimenting its sensual surface transitions was key to the styling of the Vulcano.” said Icona design director Samuel Chuffart. The naked titanium body is a sculpture, revealing its 1,000 hours of hand-crafted work in the most pure form.
The Vulcano’s strongly sculpted body side and voluptuous shapes evacuate the hot air from the engine and reduce air turbulence generated by the wheels.
The Vulcano Titanium was built by Cecomp, an Italian coachbuilder with a long and glorious history. The powertrain is the work of Claudio Lombardi, ex-Scuderia Ferrari director and mastermind of numerous world champion cars with Mario Cavagnero, the man behind the Lancia Racing team and father of the engine of many championship-winning cars (the famous Lancia Integrale and 037, as well as the complete Peugeot T16 family)
The Vulcano (volcano in Italian) has a mid-front engine calibrated for homologated road and race use with an optimum balance of usability and efficiency.
Capable to be tuned to well over 1000 horsepower should the owner demand it, the optimized 670 horsepower and 840 N/m of its supercharged V8 is sourced from the record-beating ZR1 and is coupled with a paddle-shift close ratio gearbox from Automac Modena, allowing 0 to 60 miles/hr in 2.8 seconds and 120 miles/hr in 8.8 seconds.
With its bare handcrafted titanium body, this beautiful and voluptuous 220 mile/hr hypercar definitely brings together the Beauty and the Beast!2018 Mercedes-AMG R50
2018 Mercedes-AMG R50 – $3 Million est.
Unveiled to the public at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, the Mercedes-AMG GT is a two-seat sports car designed to replace the SLS AMG. However, the new coupe is smaller than its predecessor, and unlike the SLS, it was developed as a rival for the Porsche 911. Unveiled to the public at the 2014 Paris Motor show, the mercedes amg gt is a two seat sports car designed to replace the SLS amg. However, the new coupe is smaller
The GT is also the first AMG to use the new “Mercedes-AMG” nomenclature and the first model to make use of the new twin-turbo, 4.0-liter V-8 engine. Just like the SLS, the AMG GT spawned a GT3-spec race car and will also receive at least two higher performance versions.
One of them is the GT R and was unveiled on June 24, 2016 at the Brooklands track in England, where the sports car was driven by both Tobias Moers, CEO of Mercedes-AMG, and Lewis Hamilton, reigning Formula One world champion with the German brand.
The Mercedes-AMG GT R is the third member of the AMG GT family and the most powerful version of the sports car as of June 2016. It will go on sale in November 2016 with deliveries to commence in March 2017. As expected, AMG redesigned the twin-turbo, 4.0-liter V-8 engine for the GT R.
By using new turbochargers with modified compressor machining, increased boost pressure from 1.2 to 1.35 bar, smaller waste gate aneroid capsule, and sharpened engine mapping, the Germans managed to enhance the V-8’s output to 577 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, which accounts for a 74-horsepower and 35-pound-foot increase over the AMG GT S.Bugatti Vision GranTurismo
Bugatti Vision GranTurismo – $3 Million+
The Bugatti Vision GT is the virtual expression of how a real quasi-racing Bugatti could look. It also provides us with a preview of Bugatti’s next Veyron replacement, working-titled 2018 Bugatti Chiron.
As outrageous as it looks, the Bugatti Vision GT isn’t quite as extreme as some other cars in the Vision GT garage — the 2,590-horsepower 2015 SRT Tomahawk Vision Gran Turismo for instance — but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Bugatti designers and engineers wanted keep things in the realm of what’s possible now. That said, Bugattis by their very nature are extreme cars.
“We wanted to create a project as realistic as possible for our fans and put a real Bugatti in the virtual world of the PlayStation video game franchise,” explained head Bugatti designer Frank Heyl. “Every design characteristic is defined by its function. Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo is the perfect symbiosis of engineering and aesthetics.”
Bugatti might have built an actual version of its Vision Gran Turismo racer, but the automaker doesn’t divulge much information on the car’s powerplant.
The Vision Vision GT is powered by a W-16 engine that powers all four wheels and utilizes a rather unique radiator design and an aerodynamically efficient air inlet for the engine’s massive intake.
Rumors suggest the entire powertrain system could produce 1,500 horsepower and 1,100 pound-feet of torque, allowing the lightweight racer to hit 60 mph in two seconds on its way to a top speed of 290 mph.2017 McLaren P1 LM
2017 McLaren P1 LM– $3.7 Million est.
Lanzante Ltd. first became globally synonymous with the McLaren name when it ran the semi-works McLaren F1 GTR that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1995. 21 years later, Lanzante has created the McLaren P1 LM – its first limited production road car and a development of the most recent models to be produced within McLaren’s Ultimate Series.
The biggest change is to the engine hardware producing additional boost and hybrid power in order to maintain the McLaren P1 GTR’s 1000PS (986bhp). This is achieved while still using 99-octane fuel.
The engine bay features gold plated heat shielding while the catalytic converter pipes and exhaust headers are made using the exotic ‘super-alloy’ Inconel saving 4.5 kg. Furthermore, the charge coolers will be produced with even more efficient cores to maintain power at higher run temperatures.
The advanced aerodynamics and styling of the McLaren P1 GTR are largely carried over to the P1 LM but with increased aero from a modified rear wing, and larger front splitter and dive planes. Together the changes give a predicted increase in downforce of 40%.
The P1 LM will be supplied by Lanzante Ltd. with a full tool kit including a torque wrench and wheel socket plus diagnostics tablet. Included, too, will be a tailored car cover and battery charging system. Owners will also be treated to a 1:8 scale model of their car and framed rendering.2017 Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta
2017 Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta– $3.8 Million est.
In July 2016, Maranello unleashed the first official photos of the Laferrari Aperta, while the Paris Motor Show hosted to supercar’s public debut. So far prototypes have been snapped testing in Maranello ahead of its market debut in 2017.
Ferrari claims that the LaFerrari Aperta retains identical performance to the Coupe, despite the added weight. Owners will have the option of a soft roof or a carbon fiber roof. It is said that the LaFerrari Aperta will be limited to less than 100 units with some sources citing 70 units, pricing has been estimated to fall northwards of $3.5 million depending on options. The Coupe (limited to 499 units) had a base price of $1.4 million.
Motivation comes from the same hybrid drivetrain that brings together a 6.3-liter V-12 and a HY-KERS unit that provides short bursts of extra power.
The conventional engine cranks out 789 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, while the KERS unit adds 161 horses and 148 pound-feet for a total output of 950 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of twist.
Specifically the Aperta hits 60 mph from a standing start in the same “under three seconds” (tested by some at 2.8 ticks) and from 0 to 124 mph in 7.1 seconds.
The top speed is rated at “over 217 mph,” also identical to the coupe. Ferrari also claims that the Aperta delivers the same torsional rigidity and beam stiffness characteristics, as well as dynamic performance levels.Aston Martin-Red Bull AM-RB 001 Most Expensive Cars
Aston Martin-Red Bull AM-RB 001 – $3.9 Million
The Aston Martin AM-RB 001 is an F1-inspired hypercar jointly built by Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing. The car was revealed last month albeit as a full scale clay model unit, it will be the first road car designed by F1 veteran Adrian Newey.
The AM-RB 001 is powered by a naturally aspirated V12 coupled with an F1 energy recovery system. The hypercar will be limited to less than 150 units (between 99 and 150 cars), as well as 25 track only cars.
Exact pricing is yet to be confirmed, the estimate was announced to be “£2-3 million”. First owners will receive their cars in 2018, prototypes will begin testing on public roads by next year.
Although it looks like a conventional supercar, the chassis is actually based on the open-wheel design of F1 cars. This is most visible if you look in the area between the nose and the carbon-fiber splitter, as well as the open area just under the doors.
Around back, instead of the traditional diffuser that goes all the way to the ground, the AM-RB 001 sports a tunnel-like element that channels the air that comes from under the nose.
The nearly flat fascia, the low-slung rear section of the roof, and the thin wing also suggest that Newey designed an intricate aerodynamic system that seems to blend knowledge from both Formula One and Le Mans.
