DOES JULIEN INGRASSIA HAVE A RIVAL FOR POSSESSION OF THE CO-DRIVER’S SEAT ALONGSIDE DOUBLE WORLD CHAMPION SÉBASTIEN OGIER?
Ogier and his wife, German TV presenter Andrea Kaiser, teamed up for the Kitzbüheler Alpenrallye in Austria in a 136hp Volkswagen Salzburg Beetle.
The 28th edition of the rally featured 188 historic cars from seven decades and other entrants included triple Le Mans 24 Hours winner Hans-Joachim Stuck and WRC Promoter boss Oliver Ciesla, who co-drove Marcus Görig in a 1958 Porsche 356.
Görig and Ciesla (pictured bottom) were invited by the German-based Schaeffler Group, a rolling bearing manufacturer and supplier to the automotive industry, which also has motorsport interests. They finished 17th out of 145 in the Classic Trophy category.
It’s been a busy time for Ogier since Vodafone Rally de Portugal. The Frenchman cheered on Ducati riders Andrea Dovizioso and Andrea Iannone at the MotoGP race at Mugello
He has also met six-time Olympic gold medallist and 100m and 200m world record holder Usain Bolt.
As for Ingrassia’s position, we think he’s safe. Ogier tweeted from Austria: “New car, new co-driver! I think I start to be scared...I mean...About my new co-driver!”
