We are less than a week away from the release of Batman: Arkham Knight, and the early reviews are rolling in. Early consensus seems to that the introduction of the Batmobile is more of a stumbling block than a gameplay revelation, but otherwise Arkham Knight is the best Batman gaming experience yet.

Polygon’s Justin McElroy says Arkham Knight is basically the perfect Batman game, awarding it a full 10/10 score:
Rocksteady has said this is its last Batman game, and I'm praying to the New Gods that they're on the level. After Arkham Knight, trying to find more meat on the Batman bone would define futility. After Arkham Knight, Batman has been perfected — and the end result is the best game of this console generation.
Andrew Reiner of Game Informer feels that the Batmobile took away from an another excellently crafted game, awarding it a 9.5/10:
Every gameplay mechanic is better refined and balanced, leading to the best playing Batman game yet. The Batmobile, unfortunately, is a part of far too many blasé tank encounters
Simlarly, IGN’s Dan Stapleton says the Batmobile “feels out of place,” but still gave the game an “amazing” 9.2/10:
Batman: Arkham Knight is an impressive game on almost every level, with non-stop variety and great action.
GameSpot’s Kevin VanOrd is the most critical, weighing disappointing Batmobile encounters heaviest against the game and awarding it a 7/10:
What Batman: Arkham Knight does well, however, it does really well. Gotham is a dazzling playground where neon lights pierce through the rain and mist; all it takes is a single glimpse to tell you that this is a city in need. Moreover, many individual elements are so carefully constructed, and presented with such flair, that appreciation is the only reasonable reaction.
What do you think? Do these reviews get you even more excited for Arkham Knight? Are you disappointed about the Batmobile’s poor reception? Let us know, and stay tuned for ComicBook.com’s own review of Batman: Arkham Knight.
Batman: Arkham Knight releases June 23.
