Hyundai has unveiled a bold new 2014 livery for its i20 World Rally Car and has revealed that its return to the World Rally Championship has inspired a new 'N' range of high-performance road cars.
The i20 World Rally Car colour scheme was shown for the first time at Hyundai Motor Europe’s base in Offenbach, Germany, this morning.
The team will be known as the Hyundai Shell World Rally Team after a multi-year title partnership with Shell and the car’s blue/grey and bright red scheme features Shell’s Helix-Ultra logos.
Hyundai used the launch to announce that a new ‘N’ logo – that features on the bonnet and doors of the rally car - will be used to symbolise the firm’s high performance technology on both the i20 WRC car and future mass-produced high performance cars.
The ‘N’ designation is inspired by the firm’s Namyang research and development centre in Korea that has collaborated with Hyundai Motorsport on the development of the i20 WRC.
“Linked directly to the company’s renewed involvement in WRC, "N" brings together Hyundai Motor’s technology and innovation with the learning from motorsport to provide a new experience for customers,” Hyundai said in a statement.
