The upcoming sequel to Disney's fan-favorite animated hit Wreck-It Ralph is one step closer to reaching screens.
The film has officially received a title and a release date, thanks to Disney's presentation tonight at CinemaCon.
The 2018 sequel will be called Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2, possibly hinting that the lovable cast of arcade game characters will literally enter the world of the Internet and online gaming. This was previously hinted at last summer, when the film's directors hinted that the film will possibly have a nod to TRON.
Few details are known beyond that, other than that original cast members John C. Reilly,Sarah Silverman, Jane Lynch, and Jack McBrayer will reprise their roles, and that Ugly Betty's Ana Ortiz will be joining the cast in an unknown role.
The official description of the news from Disney's CinemaCon panel is as follows:
"A sequel to Wreck It Ralph is coming in 2018 with Rich Moore, Phil Johnston directing and Clark Spencer directing. John C. Riley and Sarah Silverman are returning. March of 2018. Jane Lynch joins as Sargeant Calhoun and Jack McBrayer returns."
