Bad breath can be embarrassing and people with chronic or recurring bad breath often lose their self-confidence.
Certain foods, smoking, health conditions and habits are among the causes of bad breath.
Find Out if Your Breath Smells
One way to find out if your breath smells is to take a piece of gauze and wipe it on your tongue. If the gauze comes out with a yellow color or with a smell, it is an indicator of high levels of sulfides in your body.
How to get rid of bad breath
1. Lemon Juice
Lemon juice can give you a good refreshing air to breathe. The acidic content in lemons prevents growth of bacteria in your mouth.
Ingredients:
- Juice of one lemom
- Fresh water
- Ice cube tray
- Pinch of ground cinnamon
Put a small pinch of cinnamon in the bottom of the tray. Add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice to each compartment in the ice cube tray, and then cover with water. Stir and allow to freeze.
When they are done, place them in a plastic bag and use something to crush them up. Keep this baggy in the freezer and suck on the ice whenever you need it.
2. Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil has antiseptic properties that act like a powerful disinfectant for your mouth.
Mix a few drops of tea tree oil in a glass of water and use it as a mouthwash, 3-4 times a day.
3. Apple Cider Vinegar
You can use apple cider vinegar as a mouth gargle.
- Put some apple cider vinegar (ACV) in a glass of water.
- Gargle for 10 seconds.
- Spit it out.
4. Green Tea
Green tea is a powerful antioxidant that works to flush out toxins out of your body. Drinking green tea in the morning can help you get rid of bad breath.
Green tea has polyphenols that fight against bacteria that create bad odor in the mouth.
