He's serving up some Bear Grylls realness right now.
It’s only mid-July, but based on this gorgeous trailer and what we know of the production process, we’re already calling it: “Birdman” director Alejandro González Iñárritu’s “The Revenant” is going to be the most visually stunning movie event of the year.
Of course, we’re also banking on the plot and performances being awesome, and Leonardo DiCaprio’s commitment to real-life explorer Hugh Glass’ story can definitely be seen in the trailer — even without any dialogue:
According to a release sent by Fox, DiCaprio’s character will be attacked by a bear, literally left for dead in the 19th century American wilderness, then somehow be massively betrayed by Tom Hardy — all while being forced to survive “a vicious winter in a relentless pursuit to live and find redemption.”
Count us in.
“The Revenant” hits theaters in limited release on Christmas Day, then wide release in January 2016
